The Isle of Wight Model Engineering Society

So you think you might like to join us? Let's see if we can persuade you.

As well as being able to attend the Society's regular Monthly Meetings and the Track & Pond Days, joining allows the member to use the facilities of the Club site on the western outskirts of Cowes, known as Broadfields. Provided certain important safety criteria are met, this can be at any time, whether it's to run your boat on the pond or your locomotive on the 3½in/5in g. raised track, the 5in/7¼in g. ground level track or the 45mm/Gauge 1 Garden Railway.

If powered by steam, such models must be tested by the Club's 'in house' Boiler Inspectors and a widely accepted Boiler Test Certificate to Southern Federation standards issued. These remain current for two years and are available only to paid-up members.

Members also receive our quarterly newsletter, The Vectimod, which outlines the happenings in the Society plus news and views, tips and tricks and engineering related material of interest.

Membership is not restricted to model makers resident on the Isle of Wight. We have a number of regular visitors, often members of mainland Societies, who choose to be full IWMES members and pay the modest subscription we ask.
